To be frank, I am a little pissed out when some local students suspected that mainland students stole their belongings and it is sad that we have long vacation for Christmas in stead of Chinese new year, but I never heard the song you mentioned... I think now Hong Kong is more affected by Beijing rather than London.

I am a year 1 student and I got admitted because of my college entrance examination grades. No TOEFL or IELTS requirements for mainland students seeking for tertiary education. But for master degree, I think GPA and TOEFL results are pretty important~

Some local citizens worry about it, too. I am not an expert in politics, and usually keep aloof from those constant marching and demonstration things happening everyday, but I admire local people's spirits to protect the city, the historical facts and the political values that they treasured a lot. :)
