Economics is concerned with the study of how people and societies produce various goods and services and distribute them for consumption, now or in the future, among various persons and groups in society. The Economics program includes the study of the U.S. economic system, using techniques for the analysis of contemporary economic problems. There is an emphasis on developing the ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating public and private policy issues.
