The frontman released his first solo record, *Flamingo*, in 2010 and is currently working with Haim and Vampire Weekend producer Ariel Rechtshaid on its follow-up.
Speaking to NME in the brand new issue, which is on newsstands now or available digitally, Flowers said: "The record*s not done yet, but I*m excited about it... I*m liking it." He also admits that the album is less influenced by his hometown of Las Vegas than *Flamingo* was. "People are going to interpret it how they will, but there*s only a little bit of Vegas in there."

Meanwhile, on the subject of Rechtshaid, the frontman admits that their different ways of working have led to the pair butting heads. "He*s taking me out of my comfort zone. Normally I make demos and they*re pretty similar to how the song ends up. but he*ll take a song and be like, *I hear this*. It*s incredible – his palette and his range, what he*s able to say. At first we were butting our heads together, but now we*re hitting it off."
The Killers released greatest hits album *Direct Hits* in 2013. However, fans can rest assured that Flowers has no plans to end things with the band, saying: "I wanna keep being in this band. I don*t think we*ll get too morbid about it, I think we wanna keep going."
