What do you like most in Taiwan? I have to say that i like most those convenient stores.
Most of them are open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. You can do everything you want in there. You can copy the article, you can withdraw cash, you can use the bathroom, you can book the ticket of concert. Before i went to Taiwan, i had no idea how could people can do so many things in convenience stores. Those waiters who work in the stores must be superman because they almost know everything, how to use the xerox machine, how to pay the fee on the ATM. I am very impressive about their work ability and efficiency.
If you pay attention there, you can find there are some numbers and lines on the convenience store's doors. And I don't know what they for. So i looked for some information and asked my friends in Taiwan. The answer is those numbers and lines can help policemen guess the height of the robber. In 1970s, robbery was rampant in Taiwan. So, a doctor named rosemary(?) found this way to measure the robber's height. The first store which made use for this marker was the famous 7-11. Now, camera has been very popular. The convenience store use cameras to make them safer. The robber's height and face feature could be estimated more accurate by camera. I have never heard of a robbery in a convenience store any more. It means the way worked!
