Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal and Willem Dafoe will star in Legendary’s “The Great Wall,” the company announced Wednesday.
Chinese actors Andy Lau, Jing Tian, Zhang Hanyu, Eddie Peng, Lu Han, Lin Gengxin, Zheng Kai, Chen Xuedong, Huang Xuan and Wang Junkai will make up the rest of the cast for the production, which is being positioned as largest film ever to shoot entirely in in China for global distribution.
Newcomers Yu Xintian and Liu Qiong will play also roles in the film as supporting actresses.
Yimou Zhang (“Hero”) will direct.
Damon, Pascal and Dafoe had previously been in talks to join the project.
Pascal (“Game of Thrones”) will next be seen in Netflix’s original series “Narcos,” about Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.
