《长恨歌》
汉皇重色思倾国，
御宇多年求不得。
杨家有女初长成，
养在深闺人未识。
天生丽质难自弃，
一朝选在君王侧。
回眸一笑百媚生，
六宫粉黛无颜色。
春寒赐浴华清池，
温泉水滑洗凝脂。
侍儿扶起娇无力，
始是新承恩泽时。
云鬓花颜金步摇，
芙蓉帐暖度春宵。
春宵苦短日高起，
从此君王不早朝。
The Ballad of Eternal Sorrow
Of rare beauty the Han Emperor was fond,
In his reign he'd been seeking but none found.
Up a daughter of Yang family had grown,
Yet to none outside her bower was she known.
A beauty endowed by heaven couldn't be denied,
So she was chosen to be at the Emperor's side.
One smile of hers could lighten up the whole city,
Rest of the harem were overwhelmed by her beauty.
One cold day, to the Huaqing spa she went by imperial decree,
Warm spring water washed her skin so smooth and ivory.
Maids upheld her strengthless body of sensuous seductions,
Then she was to receive the Emperor's showering passions.
Golden jewelries on lush tresses, a face that shamed flowers,
In the warm lotus tent, away they spent the spring night hours.
Spring night hours flew by, the sun had already shone,
His Majesty held no morning court from that day on.

承欢侍宴无闲暇，
春从春游夜专夜。
后宫佳丽三千人，
三千宠爱在一身。
金屋妆成娇侍夜，
玉楼宴罢醉和春。
姊妹弟兄皆列土，
可怜光彩生门户。
遂令天下父母心，
不重生男重生女！
骊宫高处入青云，
仙乐风飘处处闻。
缓歌慢舞凝丝竹，
尽日君王看不足。
渔阳鼙鼓动地来，
惊破霓裳羽衣曲。
Consuming lust and reveling banquets with no respite,
Each and every spring day, each and every spring night.
The imperial harem was of one hundred by thirty,
All Emperor's affection and love was at her monopoly.
Readying for the night, in the Golden Hall she was preening,
After banquet at Jade Mansion, they were drunk with the spring.
Elevated were all her siblings to the ranks of nobility,
What glories and admirations it brought to the family.
All over the land, envied all the fathers and mothers,
They longed not to have sons but to have daughters!
The palaces at Li Hills thrusted high into the sky blue,
Heavenly was the sound of music while the wind blew.
Meandering flutes and strings led slow dance and song,
The Sovereign still desired for more all day long.
From the north war drums erupted like rolling thunders,
The tune of Rainbow Silken Costumes was in tatters.

九重城阙烟尘生，
千乘万骑西南行。
翠华摇摇行复止，
西出都门百余里。
六军不发无奈何，
宛转蛾眉马前死。
花钿委地无人收，
翠翘金雀玉搔头。
君王掩面救不得，
回看血泪相和流。
黄埃散漫风萧索，
云栈萦纡登剑阁。
峨嵋山下少人行，
旌旗无光日色薄。
蜀江水碧蜀山青，
圣主朝朝暮暮情。
行宫见月伤心色，
夜雨闻铃肠断声。
Smoke and dust rose from the vast imperial palaces,
Fleeing to southwest were wagons and cavalries endless.
Lavish imperial carriages traveled at a snail's pace,
Forty miles from the capital they stopped in a place.
Where the imperial guards the marching orders disobeyed,
Swiftly the thin-browed beauty's life the price to be paid.
Scattered on the ground all her face flower decorations ,
So were emeralds, golden bird jewelries and jade hairpins.
Hands over his face, the Emperor could do nothing,
Looking back in tears and with his heart bleeding.
Distressful wind spreading yellow dust shower,
Narrow path snaked through clouds to the Sword Gate Tower.
By the foot of E'mei mountains few travelers were found,
The flags were lusterless and the sunlight almost drowned.
The Shu rivers and mountains were like emerald jade,
Which reminded the Emperor of all the love they'd made.
Moon over the makeshift palace cast color of soul grieving,
Bells in the rainy night echoed sound of heart breaking.

天旋地转回龙驭，
到此踌躇不能去。
马嵬坡下泥土中，
不见玉颜空死处。
君臣相顾尽沾衣，
东望都门信马归。
归来池苑皆依旧，
太液芙蓉未央柳。
芙蓉如面柳如眉，
对此如何不泪垂。
春风桃李花开日，
秋雨梧桐叶落时。
西宫南苑多秋草，
落叶满阶红不扫。
The fortune reversed and returned Emperor's dragon cart,
Lingering around that very place, and he refused to part.
By the slope of Mawei Hill and under all the dirt,
Only the empty grave lay and absent was body of the beauty.
Everyone in Emperor's court shed tears on the shirt,
Horses idly took them to the east gate of the capital city.
Returning to the pond and garden in the same old place,
Lotuses in the Supreme Pool and willows by the Forever Hall.
Willow leaves were like her brows and lotus flowers her face,
How on earth could he stop his tears that would fall?
Peach and plum trees blossomed in the spring breeze,
Autumn rains shed leaves from the parasol trees.
Autumn grass overgrew in the west palace and south garden,
Nobody came to sweep the steps off all the leaves fallen.

梨园弟子白发新，
椒房阿监青娥老。
夕殿萤飞思悄然，
孤灯挑尽未成眠。
迟迟钟鼓初长夜，
耿耿星河欲曙天。
鸳鸯瓦冷霜华重，
翡翠衾寒谁与共。
悠悠生死别经年，
魂魄不曾来入梦。
临邛道士鸿都客，
能以精诚致魂魄。
为感君王辗转思，
遂教方士殷勤觅。
排空驭气奔如电，
升天入地求之遍。
上穷碧落下黄泉，
两处茫茫皆不见。
On the heads of court actors new white hairs growing
Palace maids got old and so did ladies in waiting.
Fireflies in the hall at dusk and pensive he had been,
The lone light burned out and he was still wide awake.
Slow watch bells and drums the long night ushered in,
Galaxies were dimming and the dawn was about to break.
On the cold paired roof tiles, heavy frost distilled,
But who was to share the embroidered quilt so chilled?
Separated by life and death for many a year,
Yet her ghosted soul in his dreams did not appear.
A Taoist priest from southwest was the guest of the Emperor,
He could contact ghosted souls through belief and ardor.
Moved by His Majesty's yearnings in nights of sleeplessness,
The Taoist priest started searching with aggressiveness.
Fast as the lightning and flying above cloud cover,
He combed sky's limits and the earth's every corner.
Up to the blue extreme and down to the yellow spring underground;
But at both places absolute nothing was all he found.

忽闻海上有仙山，
山在虚无缥渺间。
楼阁玲珑五云起，
其中绰约多仙子。
中有一人字太真，
雪肤花貌参差是。
金阙西厢叩玉扃，
转教小玉报双成。
闻道汉家天子使，
九华帐里梦魂惊。
揽衣推枕起徘徊，
珠箔银屏迤逦开。
云鬓半偏新睡觉，
花冠不整下堂来。
Suddenly it is told of Mountains of Immortals in the sea,
Where they are located between nothingness and unreality.
Well-crafted mansions and towers with clouds by their side;
In which many statuesque and pretty fairies would reside.
Among them there is one named Supreme Veracity,
With similar lily skin and the flowery face of the beauty.
Knocked on are the jade doors at west wing of the gold mansion,
Through the pretty maids the visitor's arrival is relayed in.
It is said that by the Han Emperor one emissary is sent,
She is waken from her dream inside the luxurious tent.
Putting on garments and pushing way pillows with hurried motion,
Pearly curtains and silver screens opened in succession.
Cloud of fine tresses skewed from sleep that was waken,
With disheveled flower tiara, down the hall she walks in.

风吹仙袂飘飘举，
犹似霓裳羽衣舞。
玉容寂寞泪阑干，
梨花一枝春带雨。
含情凝睇谢君王，
一别音容两渺茫。
昭阳殿里恩爱绝，
蓬莱宫中日月长。
回头下望人寰处，
不见长安见尘雾。
Breeze is flapping her heavenly dress up and down,
As if she were still dancing to the familiar sound.
Beautiful face is forlorn and with tear stain,
Like pear flowers sprinkled with spring rain.
She thanks the Emperor with teary but loving eyes,
Which since farewell have seen nothing but blurred skies.
"Love in the Bright Sun Hall had come to an end abruptly,
Life in the Immortality Palace lasts forever long.
I've been looking back and down on the world earthly,
Chang'an isn't in sight but only misty dust all along.

译完以后，有一点感想。就像W.B.Yeats的一段诗:
And you and I, and talked of poetry.
I said, 'A line will take us hours maybe;
Yet if it does not seem a moment's thought,
Our stitching and unstitching has been naught.
大意是一行诗也许会化几小时才能写出来，如果看起来不像随手掂来，一切努力都是白费。
译诗严格上讲不是创作，但是在语言间转换，很多时候还真是像叶芝说的那样。一行诗能把译者憋死。其中的酸甜苦乐，确实一言难尽。
《长恨歌》就到这里，多谢大家的鼓励和指点！ 和《长恨歌》并驾齐驱的另一首长诗，《琵琶行》也刚好译完。稍稍润色之后，贴出来与各位共享。
