Just to answer a few questions:
- You can't use any books to reduce the price of research or reduce the time it takes
- You can only run one research project at a time and it they can not be be cancelled
- Each project takes 20 hrs to complete and can not be sped up
- Research does not occupy any survivors time, but in some cases will need certain survivor types
- There are around 30 new components in total, so clear out some space
- The cost will be spread out over nearly 18 months
- Research provides bonuses, it doesn't give you new schematics or buildings to construct, it enhances what you have
