Jelena Dokic has been a relatively quiet figure in the tennis world, deciding to drift out of the spotlight and take some time off following her retirement in 2014. But she is returning for this year’s Australian Open, this time on the other side of the court in the commentary box.
2014年决定远离闪光灯并且退役后，多克奇在网坛销声匿迹。但是今年她会在澳网回归，此次不在赛场上，而在评论席中。
The former world No.4 has had several health issues since retirement and has spent extended periods of time in her native Serbia. She only just moved back to Melbourne permanently and says it is amazing to be back home.
前世界第四在退役后遭遇了健康问题，因此她花了很长时间在出生地塞尔维亚养病。她刚刚搬回澳大利亚，并且表示很喜欢回到澳洲老家。
“I got a bit sick around two years ago with my thyroid – I have a thyroid condition. That’s been a bit of a battle. But it’s better in the last three months or so, with medication,” Dokic said.
多克奇表示“大约两年前她的甲状腺出了一些问题，经历了一些抗争，直到最近三个月左右，在药物帮助下情况有所改善。”
“I was in Europe for a while, waiting to get a bit better with my health, but it was always the plan to come back here permanently. At the end of the year, it was the right time.

“It’s great to be back. I love Melbourne – I grew up in Sydney and I love them both, but I’m more used to Melbourne because of all the tennis, with the Australian Open here each summer, and I’ve done some work here now for Tennis Australia.”

Dokic won the hearts of the public with her run to the quarterfinals at the 2009 Australian Open, defeating the likes of Caroline Wozniacki and former top world No.5 Anna Chakvetadze en route to a three-set defeat at the hands of Dinara Safina. The 33-year-old still considers that tournament as one of her best.
多克奇2009年神奇付出赢得了众人的心，当时她击败了沃兹尼亚奇及查克维塔泽最后被萨芬娜三盘击败。多克奇仍把澳网当做最喜爱赛事。
“That was an amazing run for me,” she said.
“But I don’t look at them as memories, because I feel like I live here. I’m at home here.
“For me it was always special. Sometimes I didn’t do well, but I still had such a good time here and it was still so special. Even when I’d lost early there were never any bad memories – it was always a good time.”
多克奇说09澳网对她来说很神奇，但她不把这一切当做回忆，因为她感觉这里是她的家。

The last time Dokic was at the Australian Open the complex looked much different to how it looks now, with the refurbished Margaret Court Arena a big tick in her books.

“Melbourne Park has changed a lot since I was here last – the Tennis HQ building was not here, and all the changes at the Margaret Court Arena are new to me,” she said.

“It’s really different, but it’s good – I’ve always said it’s the best Grand Slam in the world by far. It’s an unbelievable setup, and it’s always good to be here at this time of year.”

The former Wimbledon semifinalist is also looking forward to getting behind the microphone to commentate at this year’s tournament.

“Getting into commentary is a big thing. I’ve done a few test runs at Wimbledon and I did Hopman Cup a few years ago, so I’m really excited about the commentary work for the Australian Open world feed,” Dokic said.

“I’ve got another gig with Fox Sports as an analyst and digital columnist for the Australian Open.

“I think I know a fair bit about the game, so I can use my knowledge and experience as a player to do that kind of stuff, and I’m excited to get into the commentary box.”

Looking ahead to the tournament, Dokic says the women’s tournament is a fairly even race, depending on the state of Serena Williams.
“Obviously Serena will always be a favourite for everything, it just depends where she’s at and how she’s feeling. Even though she didn’t have a great start to the year, you can never count her out,” she said.
“But there are a few girls who can win this Australian Open, and someone like Karolina Pliskova could cause an upset.
“Everyone will come out and try to play their best at a Grand Slam, but you have to go with the top girls – they’re always the favourites. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see some upsets this year.”
多克奇认为现在女子网坛处于均势，当然这些取决于小威的状态。小威时刻都是热门之一，还得看她的状态。即使年初状态不好，也不容忽视。当然一些像普利斯科娃的女选手也可能爆冷。
