This is a stainless steel Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer 1846 263-88. It has an alligator leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a screw-down winding crown and a solid case back secured with 6 screws, and engraved around the perimeter with "ULYSSE NARDIN – MARINE CHRONOMETER – 263-88," a serial number, and in the center medallion are 18 gold medals with city and date won by Ulysse Nardin, from 1862 to 1964. The 36mm diameter solid three-body case, curved lugs, and stepped reeded edge bezel are polished. The dial is white with applied blued Roman numeral hour markers, blued steel fancy spade and diamond hands with luminous inserts, and there is a perimeter railway-style minute/second chapter ring, with applied luminous yellow dot hour indices. There is an up-down 60-hour power reserve subsidiary dial at 12 o'clock, and a small running seconds indicator is at 6 o'clock with "1846" in red letter, inside of which is a circular date aperture window with a Cyclops magnification lens. It has a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) rating, it's water resistant to 200 meters/660 feet, and the 11mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.
This Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer 1846 263-88 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Ulysse Nardin caliber 26 movement. It's rhodium plated, and constructed with 28 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a self-compensating flat balance-spring, and a micrometer regulator.
