01. Debbie Leung 梁倩淇

Hi everyone! My name is Debbie Leung. I am 23 years old, born and raised in Hong Kong but moved to the United States for college when I was 18. I recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbia University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Environmental Biology. Having built my own portfolio website, I am currently working as a software engineer in Manhattan. During college, I volunteered in Ghana and Panama with international NGOs to construct boreholes and provide medical supplies for the local communities. Apart from being enthusiastic about community service, my passion for marine biology has motivated me to pursue my first PADI dive certification at the age of 17, subsequently conducting marine conservation research in Belize and Jordan. As a woman in STEM, I hope to challenge myself throughout this pageant experience and break out of the nerdy stereotype of Chinese American female engineers. Hello everyone! I am contestant number two Theresa Yung. 大家好，我是二號佳麗翁藝嘉,富翁的翁，藝術的藝，嘉賓的嘉。 I am 16 years old and currently a sophomore in high school. I have many hobbies including piano, and flute. dancing, singing, and swimming. I started piano when I was 3 and flute when I was 10 so music has always been a big part of my life. I’ve participated in and won many international competitions in my various hobbies and I am currently enrolled in Manhattan School of Music Precollege. I’ve gained a tremendous amount of experience performing at prestigious concert halls including Carnegie Hall and through this pageant, I hope to learn more things and improve myself as well as make some new friends. One thing I really want is to grow 10 more inches so that I could tower over everyone instead of looking up to see everyone. Thank you for giving me this wonderful opportunity! 謝謝主辦方給我這次珍貴的機會！

Self-introduction 自我介紹:
Hello everyone, I am contestant no.3 Manling Tan. I am 27 years old, and I grew up in Canton, China. When I was 15, I moved to San Francisco with my parents. I studied chemical engineering at UC Davis as an undergraduate and just obtained my master’s degree at Columbia University for the same major. After graduation, I became a semiconductor process engineer at Intel but I recently switched to being a financial analyst in the same company. Outside of work, I have many hobbies including singing, reading, and dancing, as well as studying investment and astrology. Therefore, I consider myself a very well-rounded person who loves to accept new challenges, explore new things, and connect with new people. This is also an important reason why I am here participating in this pageant. I am extremely grateful that I can be in this pageant, and I believe this will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Growing up, I have many financial limitations, but I still manage to receive an education with scholarships and sponsorship from my employer through hard work and persistence. Thus, I sincerely wish to inspire and encourage girls who come from financially underrepresented families like me to achieve the dreams they want. If I have the chance, I also want to utilize this pageant as a key to open the door for the entertainment industry and start an acting or singing career on the side. Thank you!

Hello! 大家好！我是6號選手，我叫夏溫和。我在美國出生和長大。今年17歲。我的愛好是跳舞，模特，畫畫，做甜品等。我從四歲開始學舞蹈，到現在已經快14年了。這些年我學過各種各樣的舞種：芭蕾，拉丁，街舞，中國舞等。 我曾參加很多舞蹈和模特比賽：我以獨舞《荷花仙子》榮獲 “2017 年- 天生我才 - 美國青少年才藝比賽” 金獎、獨舞《東方明珠》榮獲 “2017 年國際青少年才藝比賽” 金獎；我擔任過 Joy Joa 官方走秀特邀嘉賓。我曾在 2019 年參加林肯中心 Lincoln Center 大型舞蹈演出。我很榮幸參選美國紐約華裔小姐選美，也感謝主辦方給我寶貴的機會和平台，我會讓我的自信在舞台上綻放光彩。謝謝！
