Bigg Boss season 2 contestant Payal Rohatgi, who entered the Bigg Boss house recently during a freeze tasK, feels that people take undue advantage of Salman's popularity for their personal benefits.
"Salman always comes to the show well prepared. He watches the entire week's footage before pointing out mistakes. Like when Pratyusha was going wrong and Kamya didn't support her, he complimented Kamya for that. But I don't understand why can't people take criticism in a sporting manner. I am sure so many times even he must be under pressure as to what to say and what not to. Because he's a big celebrity what ever he says becomes everyone's concern and people start bashing him or his NGO. It's very upsetting to see that people take undue advantage of his stardom for their personal benefit," said the actress.
Payal also feels that Salman's presence on Bigg Boss has taken the show to another level and has made it a household name, "Salman Khan's association with Bigg Boss has taken the show to another level. Because of his presence, the show has gained immense popularity and the reach of the show is tremendous. It has become a household name,"Payal adds.

Mumbai court to decide on fresh trial in 2002 Salman Khan hit-and-run case

The sessions court in Mumbai will decide on Thursday, December 5, whether there should be a fresh trial with fresh evidence in the 2002 case against actor Salman Khan after graver charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was added.
The judge had made a query whether a fresh trial should be undertaken or the same evidence which was produced before the Bandra magistrate could be relied up, said a defence advocate.
Both sides had made their submissions. Khan's lawyers including advocate Shrikant Shivade had argued for a fresh trial since they said the matter now included a serious charge of section 304-II of the Indian Penal Code and thus needs to tried afresh. But the prosecution team argued otherwise and said the large body of evidence presented before the magistrate ought to be used.

“I have been around through most of Salman’s much-hyped relationships and vouch for the fact that he has always been a true gentlemen,” said celebrated ad-film maker Kailash Surendranath, when we asked him about the Dabangg actor, who’d spoken so affectionately about him in his interview with Karan Johar in the previous week’s of Koffee with Karan. “The first time ever Salman has faced the camera was for a Campa Cola commercial which I shot,” said Kailash recounting his friendship with the star.
“He was a kid, whilst all the rest of the cast were hunky seasoned models. But if he was unconfident, he never showed it, and with his amazing energy and swimming and diving abilities, he quickly won over everyone. We instantly bonded and the chemistry encouraged us to do all kinds of crazy things, like diving into shark-infested areas,” recalls the laidback film maker, himself the son of a celebrated film star — Surendranath.
Has he changed from those early days, we asked the man whom Salman credits for helping him get over heartbreak and taking life a bit more seriously in his youth?
“Yes success has changed him... Made him even more selfless. Today, it seems, he lives and works for others more than himself, loves doing discreet charities, and never ever forgets old friends,” said Surendranath.

Fans should not cross their line: Salman

Salman Khan launched the trailer of his upcoming film Jai Ho at Chandan Cinema's Juhu amidst his fans.
The actor gave all the credit to his fans for his success, but in a subtle way he announced that he can open up to journalists only when he is assured about their intentions.
While talking about his personality, Salman said, "My personality on Koffee with Karan is not what I am. It was just the format of the show and so I played."
"I might not answer a journalist, who will ask me similar questions, but might also answer when I know that he wants to convey my feelings to people," added Salman.
Salman is the past grabbed eyeballs with his display of anger on his fans and about the same, he said, "I appreciate fans when they behave like fans and I feel they should be in their limits. The moment they cross the line, I don't consider them my fans."

After Salman Khan and the Kapoor cousins Ranbir and Kareena, now it's Aamir Khan for the first time on Koffee With Karan. And no points for guessing that KJo has managed to get interesting revelations out of Aamir and his wife, filmmaker Kiran Rao.
When asked why he avoided getting on the couch, Aamir said, "When you started your show, I did not know you too well and whatever little I knew about you, I didn't like. I think when you don't know a person you have a lot of misconceptions about them. But the point is, I like you now and I'm happy to be here."
Speaking about his contemporaries, Aamir was all praise for Salman. "He is raw brute star power. Salman just comes and he shakes his belt a couple of times, puts his goggles behind his shirt and everyone goes bananas... I don't have that kind of stardom."
He also spoke about his initial dislike for Salman: "In 'Andaaz Apna Apna', I had a bad experience working with him. I didn't like him as I found him very rude and inconsiderate. Over the years whenever I met him, I was polite but I just wanted to stay away from this guy. However this changed sometime around when I split up with Reena. He walked into my life at a juncture when I was at my lowest phase. Once when I met him, he said that he wanted to come over. And he came over and we started drinking. I don't know how, but something connected there. It kind of grew, we began spending more time together."

No evidence against Salman Khan in Blackbuck poaching case: Counsel

Salman Khan's counsel said there were no direct evidences against the actor that he carried arms with expired license during the alleged Blackbuck poaching at the nearby Kankani village in 1998. Salman's counsel Hastimal Saraswat claimed at the ACJM (Jodhpur District) court that the case against the actor is nothing but a sheaf of untruth, which has miserably failed to count some very important facts. "During the arguments, the officer could not give any satisfactory and conclusive replies to some very important questions I had raised," Saraswat said.
It may be recalled that a separate case had been registered against Salman by the forest department on October 15, 1998 under the Arms Act mentioning that the licences of the arms in the actor's possession during the alleged blackbuck poaching had expired and hence he had been using them illegally. "Upon this complaint, the Luni police had registered a case against the actor under sections 3/25 and 27 of Arms Act," Saraswat said.
Meanwhile, magistrate Chandra Kala Jain deferred the trial of the final witness of prosecution in the Arms Act against Salman in the case till January 15.
The then Additional SP and Investigating Officer Ashok Patni, who is the final witness among 16 others, appeared at the trial began today at the ACJM (Jodhpur District) court. The trial resumed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (Jodhpur District) on May 25 this year, seven years after the Rajasthan High Court rejected the revision petition, filed by the state government in 2006. Besides Salman, actors Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam were accused of poaching two Blackbucks in the intervening night of October 1 and 2, 1998 in Kankani village near Jodhpur during the shooting of the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'. It may be recalled that the High Court had revised the charges against the actors in December 2012. In the fresh charges, Salman was charged with Section 9/51 of the Wildlife Protection Act and others including a local accused Dushyant Singh with sections 9/51, 9//52 of the same Act and section 149 of IPC. Blackbuck is a protected animal and hunting or poaching of the same is a punishable offence under law.

The 4th Big Star Entertainment Award 2013 to honour film and television industry achievers, which will take place today, will see the who's who of the industry walk the red carpet.

Riteish’s 'Lai Bhaari’s' release delayed

The release of Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh's second Marathi production 'Lai Bhaari' has been postponed from January to April in the next year. The film was originally planned for a January 3, 2014 release as the date had proved lucky for Riteish, considering the success of his debut Marathi film 'Balak Palak' which went public on the same date this year.
But now some technicalities are causing the delay in the release of the project. Producer Ameya Khopkar tells us, "We are almost done with shooting of 'Lai Bhaari' but the post production work involving visual effects is taking more time. I don't think that the film will be ready for a release before April next year."

Fake shootout: Film producer arrested for implicating Salman Khan

In a plot straight out of Bollywood, a film producer was arrested for allegedly trying to implicate Salman Khan in a fake attack on himself in order to coerce the film star to work in his next project. 47-year-old Hardev Singh, a city-based businessman and owner of a film production house in Mumbai, was arrested along with his accomplice and cousin Devender (44) yesterday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Alok Kumar said.
On September 16, Hardev Singh had informed the police that two bike-borne assailants followed him and open fire at him when he was going to his shop early morning. He was not hit by the bullet, which went past the rear windows of his car and hit a concrete wall, while the assailants fled from the spot, police said. Singh then told the police that he suspected Salman Khan and his business manager Reshma Shetty's involvement in carrying out the crime, Kumar said adding a case was registered in this regard.
During investigations, it was revealed that Singh is the husband of one Jasmeet Sethi, who had created a ruckus outside the residence of the actor in Mumbai sometime back when they were trying to approach Khan for a song performance in their project, Kumar said.
Singh's wife and daughter, who run the film production unit had earlier approached Khan's manager Reshma to hire the actor, for which she demanded a huge sum. They then tried to approach the actor directly, which led to a dispute, the DCP said. Police began to suspect that the complainant, Singh, could have plotted the crime to implicate the actor.
During analysis of call records, police apprehended Devender and interrogated him at length. "Singh had told him (Devender) that due to the dispute with Salman Khan and his manager Reshma Shetty, he suffered a huge loss and his family was also being dragged in criminal cases in Mumbai," Kumar said. Devender had called one of his friends Gurjinder Singh aka Jeet, who agreed to participate in the conspiracy and in furtherance of the conspiracy they planned to fake the shootout on Singh.
During sustained interrogation, Singh confessed his involvement in commission of the crime. A cell phone and a motorcycle used in the commission of crime has also been recovered from Devender, Kumar said. Further investigations are on and efforts are being made to nab Jeet, he added.
